About Nepal

It is not possible to appreciate the depth and richness of Nepal’s arts or the motivations, inspirations, passions and socio-cultural influence of its creative community (including artisans, such as woodworkers/carpenters, architects, potters and metalworkers, etc.) without looking at Nepal’s physical/natural environment, its urban environments, ancient and modern history, society, languages and peoples.

This section of the website also includes other important related topics, such as the role of cultural tourism in supporting the arts and artisanship as well as cross-cultural learning, the Nepali overseas diaspora, daily life, contemporary & traditional Cultures, and how Nepal and its People interrelate with other world cultures (southern and eastern Asian).  A maps page is also included for giving practical contexts information to many of the topics covered.
